KOK Power Limited is now developing rechargeable llithium iron phosphate BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) for home, commercial and industral use that can compete with Tesla’s Powerwall and Powerpack.
As is well known, Tesla’s Powerwall and Powerpack battery uses nickel-manganese-cobalt or NMC chemistry and can be cycled 5,000 times before warranty expiration; while KOK’s Battery Energe Storage System uses lithium iron phosphate battery--lithium iron phosphate batteries or LiFePO4 batteries are known to be the most stable and safe of the various lithium batteries; besides, LiFePO4 batteries is 2-3 times longer of cycle life than NMC batteries, which means KOK’s BESS can reach 10,000 times cycles.
The KOK’s household BESS is designed around 5KW/5KWh, intended to be used for home energy storage and stores electricity for solar self-consumption, time of use load shifting, backup power, and off-the-grid use. For families with larger energy needs, multiple househould Battery Energe Storage System can be connected to expand the capacity even higher thanks to the scalabity of KOK’s Battery Energe Storage System design.And larger capacity and high voltageBESS is intended for commercial or electric utility grid use and can be used for peak shaving, load shifting, backup power, demand response, microgrids, renewable power integration, frequency regulation, and voltage control.
